OFFICE OF INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS
The purpose of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) is to provide direction, guidance, oversight, and institutional information and data for the effectiveness of the institution’s academic and administrative departments. The OIE guides the development and monitors institutional planning and effectiveness efforts and uses outcomes data to assess the extent to which DMGS is making progress toward the attainment of the Graduate School’s mission, institutional goals and departmental objectives.
Strategic Planning
The Strategic Planning Taskforce develops the strategic plan to achieve the graduate school’s mission and forecast needs for institutional change in ways that DMGS implements needed improvements to its programs and functions.
Institutional Research
The primary purpose of institutional research is to promote institutional effectiveness by providing information for institutional planning, policy formation, and decision-making.
Outcomes Assessment
Outcomes Assessment is the process of collecting information that advises an institution whether the academic programs, services, activities, or experiences it provides are having the desired impact on students, faculty, administration and staff. Is the institution being effective and efficient in its daily operations? The Office of Institutional Effectiveness engages in two outcomes assessment initiatives: Student Learning Outcomes (SLO’s) and Institutional Effectiveness Assessment.
Compliance and Reporting
DMGS provides vital data for internal and external surveys and reports. The institution is required to complete annual reports for the District of Columbia Higher Education Licensure Commission (HELC) and the federal Higher Education General Information Survey (HEGIS) Series.
Accreditation
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness manages the accreditation process for Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). Daniel Morgan Graduate School of National Security was granted accreditation by MSCHE on June x, 2019.
