On October 17, William J. Feltus and Matthew Dallek, Ph.D., offered Daniel Morgan Graduate School students seeking election to the Student Government Assocation (SGA) the opportunity to benefit from their experience inside political campaigns during a special presentation.

Mr. Feltus is Senior Vice President at National Media Research Planning and Placement LLC, an advertising and media agency in Alexandria, Virginia, where he manages political, corporate, and not-for-profit clients. He has been a press secretary in the U.S. Senate, deputy campaign manager of President George H. W. Bush’s unsuccessful 1992 re-election bid, and staff director of the U.S. Senate Republican Conference.

Dr. Dallek is the author of The Right Moment: Ronald Reagan’s First Victory and the Decisive Turning Point in American Politics (Oxford University Press, 2004) and the forthcoming Defenseless Under the Night: The Roosevelt Years and the Origins of Homeland Security (Oxford University Press, 2016). He served as a speechwriter for House minority leader Richard A. Gephardt as well as William E. Kennard, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission.

Sharing from years of accumulated expertise, Feltus and Dallek were able to give DMGS students tremendous insight into the political process from an insider’s perspective and to give in-depth analysis of what happened during the 2016 Presidential Election. Opportunities such as this event allow DMGS students remarkable networking and career growth opportunities, but also enable our students to gain from the vast understanding of professionals with amazing backgrounds in many important fields.
