On Friday, October 19, Daniel Morgan Graduate School (DMGS) students, staff, and faculty had the opportunity to participate in the U.S. Diplomacy Center’s The Challenge of Darfur peacebuilding simulation exercise. Our students had the opportunity to participate in this innovative learning experience of a guided simulation organized by professional diplomats designed to educate and prepare participants to learn to cope with a plausible real-world crisis scenario.
The Diplomacy Center believes that their immersive programs allow participants to “explore the goals and practice of diplomacy, learn diplomatic skills, build global competence, and understand how the critical work of American diplomats impacts people’s everyday lives.” Created by professional diplomats to help participants develop creativity and innovation; critical thinking and problem solving; and communication and collaboration; this learning experience is one of a myriad of opportunities afforded DMGS students in keeping with DMGS’s mission to enable them to “develop actionable solutions to global security challenges.” DMGS teaches about international security challenges from regions across the globe.
