Daniel Morgan Graduate School of National Security (DMGS) hosted a noontime forum on April 3 with former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers . In that role, Rogers oversaw the $70 billion U.S. Intelligence Community. The former Congressman is a prominent leader on cybersecurity shepherding multiple cyber-related bills through Congress and becoming a sought-after expert on cyber policy.
In his presentation, Rogers expressed strong concern over Russia’s use of its increasingly powerful cyber capabilities to politically disrupt different countries; most recently the 2016 U.S. Presidential election. Rogers noted China was rapidly approaching the same level of sophistication as Moscow with emphasis on capturing U.S. defense and industrial secrets.
The former Congressman laid out his vision for a more effective U.S. response to cyber provocations including expanding cooperation between the U.S. government and the private sector and “hacking back” hackers.
DMGS was delighted to host former Congressman Rogers and appreciated his insightful comments on today’s challenging world of cyber security.

Ronald A. Marks is currently the Chair of the Intelligence program at the Daniel Morgan Graduate School of National Security (DMGS).
Ronald “Ron” Marks is a 33-year veteran of the U.S. national security community. A former CIA official, Ron was a clandestine service officer and a Senate Liaison for five DCIs. He went on to serve on Capitol Hill as Intelligence Counsel to Senate Majority Leaders Robert Dole and Trent Lott. Ron maintains his involvement with intelligence matters as a member of various Intelligence Community advisory groups.
Marks was President of Intelligence Enterprises, LLC, a privately held national security management-consulting firm. He also headed the DC office of Oxford Analytics, a nationally recognized analytical, strategic, and consuling firm.
He is the author of Spying in America in the Post 9/11 World: Domestic Threat and the Need for Change.
