The Daniel Morgan Graduate School of National Security (DMGS)

How to apply

Admission is based on a portfolio of information, including:*

  • A completed application form
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation from individuals who can attest to the applicant’s qualifications and preparation for graduate work in National Security
  • Current Resume or CV
  • Statement of Purpose (not to exceed 500 words)
  • Unofficial transcripts from all degree-granting institutions
  • Writing Sample
  • Official GRE scores
*English Language Test Requirement

Applicants holding an undergraduate degree from an institution where English was not the primary language of instruction are required to take either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA)

Title 34, CFR Part 99–Family Educational Rights and Privacy, The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Regulations is a federal law designed to protect the privacy of a student’s education record. The Act prohibits DMGS from the improper disclosure of personally identifiable information derived from education records without the written consent of the student. Daniel Morgan Graduate School fully complies with all FERPA regulations. The DMGS Registrar serves as the FERPA Compliance Officer.

Deadlines

DMGS admits students on a rolling basis for both fall and spring semesters. The preferred deadlines are as follows:

Fall 2019: June 1, 2019

Priority Deadline. Admissions is on a rolling basis.

Spring 2020:

Suspended

Applications Review Process

DMGS accepts applications on a rolling basis. All application materials must be received before an application is considered by the Admissions Committee.

The Admissions Committee considers the student’s entire profile. This includes academic credentials and relevant work experience (for example, working in the field of law enforcement, government or the military).

Applicants will be promptly notified after a determination of admission has been made. The decision will be posted to our online portal and a decision letter will be mailed and emailed to the applicant. Admissions decisions cannot be released via telephone or fax.

Upon acceptance to DMGS, students must provide official transcripts from all degree-granting institutions.
