Daniel Morgan Graduate School of National Security joins the nation in mourning the passing of our 41st President, George H. W. Bush, a great Commander and Chief, and we honor him for his leadership and service to our country.

Along with the nation, the DMGS family mourns the passing of our 41st President, George H.W. Bush. An outstanding member of the Greatest Generation, President Bush led a life that was a tribute to Duty, Honor, and Country.

The scion of a prominent political family, President Bush rejected special treatment and earned his wings to become an honored Navy pilot in the Pacific in World War II. After the war, he continued his service for the Nation’s security in business and then back into the government serving as a Congressman, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Director of Central Intelligence, Vice President of the United States twice under Ronald Reagan. And, finally, to the Presidency of the United States.

During his eventful time in office, President Bush and his well selected foreign policy team were able to guide Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union toward a peaceful transition from the scourge of communism — ending 45 years of hair trigger, nuclear-tipped Cold War. And, in the face of naked aggression, President Bush led an international coalition of nations unseen since World War II to oust Saddam Hussein from Kuwait.

President Bush’s post White House years showed a man who was willing to give in both his public and private life to the less fortunate and to reach out to former opponents in friendship and camaraderie. He was a truly great Warrior and Statesman.

We, at the Daniel Morgan Graduate School of National Security, salute this great man. And we offer him our grateful thanks for his service and wish him the pilot’s best sendoff — CAVU – may your ceiling and visibility be unlimited.
